Cobridge Stoneware limited edition 'Lower Hart' vase

Cobridge Stoneware limited edition 'Lower Hart' vase

SKU: 187F9/27
£125.00Price

A limited edition vase from Cobridge Stoneware in the Lower Hart pattern designed by Rachel Bishop. It is number 10 of a run of 250 produced, and is boxed. It carries the crown date mark for 2000 on the base, as well as paintress marks. Although the copyright mark seems to show '91' I'd guess at it being a poorly painted '99'.  It stands at 8.25 inches in height.

Condition: The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.

Cobridge Stoneware was a short-lived pottery company born out of the fascination of the head of one of the leading potteries for a process that died with its inventor early in the twentieth century. Hugh Edwards, owner of Moorcroft, was keen to develop the ideas of William Howson Taylor - the man behind the closely guarded secrets of Ruskin Pottery. Top designers and the most expert paintresses were enlisted for the decorated stoneware, and the products met with much acclaim, but sadly the company closed in August 2005.
