19thc Majolica 'Bow & Leaf' cheese keeper by Thomas Forester.
This is a 19thc Majolica cheese plate and dome, commonly known as a cheese keeper and used to store Stilton. It is from the factory of Thomas Forester at the Pheonix Works in Longton, Staffordshire.
He was the son of a manager at Mintons, and mastered the craft of ceramic manufacture during his early employment at Wardle and the continental firm Peterinck of Tournai, Belgium.
The piece is 9.75 inches in height, and the plate is 11.75 inches in diameter.
Condition: It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.

Packaging & Postage
As committed recyclers, we try to make use of recycled materials for our packaging, from used boxes and cartons, recycled bubble wrap around the item, to newspaper (no polystyrene peanuts!) used for filling voids in the boxes in order to try and provide maximum protection for your purchase.

Postage will be AT COST, we do not charge for boxes or packing materials. What we get charged for postage is what it will cost you!
